Can I still buy the Scorpion Light?
Although the Scorpion Light was and still is one of the best detail light designed for filmmakers, Blind Spot chose to discontinue the product. It was a tough decision, but external factors, including increased import duties to the US and unprecedented world events, meant the product was no longer viable. We made this choice so we could focus entirely on our Power Range and smaller light fixtures.
Hopefully in the future we will be able to re-visit this incredible form factor. I'm sorry if this is sad news to you the user of this lighting system.

Power Junkie
I'm getting electronic noise when powering my camera and microphone from the Power Junkie. How can this be fixed?
What you need to include in your set up is a ground loop isolator.
Ground loop filter noise isolator, this eliminating the hiss, buzz and interference caused by ground loops which happens when the audio source and the microphone use the same power source. They cost between $10-$20 and are readily available on Amazon.
Will this provide the right power for the BMPCC 4K & 6K?
Yup, using the Blind Spot Canon dummy battery this is the perfect partner for the BMPCC 4K. It will not provide enough power to the 12V input as the DC on the Power Junkie will only output 8V.
Anyone tried powering the Nucleus Nano motor?
Yes, I tried it. I made a DC to micro USB cable (from an old powerbank, so it only had 2 wires) and it works perfectly with the Nucleus! The voltage with a full np-f 550 battery was 8.2v so it even has better torque!
When I use the dummy battery, willI I see the power percentage on the screen of my camera, or will it be 100% all the time until the battery dies?
Yes, alongside the LED indicators on the side of the Power Junkie you will get a power percentage reading on the camera screen.
Can this be used with a weipu cable plugged into the BMPCC range to the 12V two pin connector?
No. The power junkie only gives pass through voltage from the NPF which is 8.4V. This is not enough to power the 12V requirement via the two pin connector. It is however enough when using a dummy battery inside the BMPCC.
Is it possible to use a D/C splitter to power both my camera and monitor, given that there is only one D/C port available?
You can as long as the total Max draw is less than 28W, we recommend a continuous draw of 20W.
Can this charge a battery while simultaneously powering devices?
Yes but only the USB. There is no pass-through power for the DC port.
I'm concerned about the battery's stability during my run and gun/event gigs. Is it secure enough to prevent the NPF battery from coming loose?
It's really solid, I've had it attached to a handlebar of my bike whilst riding, and the battery was solid...

Power Pipes
I've connected my Power Pipe but I'm not getting any power?
Don't worry, you're not alone in experiencing this issue. To ensure proper functioning, your battery bank should have an output of at least 12V=1.5A through its USBC port. You can usually find the specifications written in grey on the side of the power bank.
If your battery doesn't meet these specifications, the output will default to 5V. You can test this using a voltmeter.
For further clarification, you may refer to the video explanation.
Is the Power Pipe 12V centre pin positive?
Yes - We had an Amazon review a long time ago who claimed otherwise. Unfortunately this was a customer error and no matter how hard we tried we could not have the review taken down.
You can rest assured that the centre pin is positive.
My device only requires 12V 1A, will the Power Pipe 12V work if my power device is 12V 3A?
Yes
Is 3a required? I see some PD devices which will provide 12v at 1.5 or 2a -- will this cable accept such arrangements?
You can successfully use these cables with a lower input current, providing that the supplied input power to the Power Pipe meets (or exceeds) the power requirements of your setup.
Some basic calculation is required. (in this simplified scenario)
Max Output power = 12v *max output current of your power supply @12v
For example, If you had a power bank with a PD rating that says 12v,2a max, then your max power would be 24watts (24w= 12v*2a)
You then need to check this exceeds the power requirement of your device, the device product manual or label should make the input requirement clear.
Is red or black wire positive?
The Center pin is positive which is red.
Which Power banks do you recommend?
We have a list of tested power banks on the Power Pipe page https://www.blindspotgear.com/power-pipe
Why is this cable more expensive than some of the competition?
Our products are rigorously tested and certified to make sure they meet the demands of our customers. Our customers use this cable to power devices that range in cost from $50 all the way to $5,000 and up. Sending the wrong voltage to a device can cause irreversible damage. If you find cheaper alternatives it's your choice which one you buy, I just hope you have insurance!
Can I draw power from a DC port so that it flows to the USBC?
The power input is from usb-c and output is DC. So no it will not work in reverse.
